Create My Keepsake DT work: Family Birthdays book

{You can click on the photo at the left to bring up a larger view.}

This month's sponsor was Junkitz! They sent us so many wonderful things, I am just in awe of some of their new products! I had so much fun making this book- The Junkitz books are so easy to use, too. (I didn't scan any of the inside pages- they are pretty much just the month and numbering to represent each day of the month. I penciled in each person's birthday next to the appropriate date- but I still want to embellish each page a little before scanning.) And I had to add this silly photo of Mom and the girls to the cover- it is one of those that just crack me up! Look at the look on Madison's face! LOL

Create My Keepsake DT work: Altered C

{You can click on the photo for a larger view.}

Just a fun little detail to add to my studio. I found the C at Hobby Lobby. I actually have the entire word 'create' but I think I want to do each letter differently- and use all my favorite paper companies. Started with Junkitz- such a yummy new collection of papers!

Thoughts for the day...
So the discussion was raised over at 2ps about compensation and recognition:

"Designer credit vs. no credit

The question being...would you be willing to do work, pay work. Possibly display sample work. But no 'byline.' Perhaps the possibility of someone recognizing your work or kids...but otherwise no viewable credit. This could be for magazine ads, display boards, obscure rarely seen things/samples, packages. But paid for.

Or do you require your work to always have credit?"

My answer was short and simple: In a heartbeat. I just really want to get my work out there- I'm not in it for the recognition. I'm in it to create art, share with others and maybe, just maybe inspire some others along the way.

What are your thoughts, if any?

I'm home!

Ohmygoodness! I had such a fabulous time at the first ever ICS slumber crop! I cannot even begin to describe the amount of silly fun I had- and I've made so many new lifelong friends- I cannot wait for CHA this summer when I will get to see some of them again. We even all got together for a group photo! Aren't we such a beautiful group? {click on the picture to enlarge}

Well, with only a few odd hours before I have to leave for my wonderful ICS scrapbook weekend retreat, I got a telephone that just blew my socks off! I am so excited with the possibilities of things I doubt I will ever be able to get any sleep tonight!

And I am so excited to be meeting everyone this weekend- we are just going to have a blast! When I get home, I'm hoping I will have LOTS of great work to share and even more photos! See you all Monday!

delight

{if you click on the photo, it opens up a larger one}

Create My Keepsake design team work featuring Junkitz, our April sponsor. These new papers are so fun & funky- they were a blast to play with.

This is Sadie & Madison, my nieces- they had such a blast last summer at Lemon Lake playing in the water fountain. They were surrunded by loads of new playground equipment, yet they had the most fun with plain old water!

m&m

Create My Keepsake March Magic Scraps project. These papers were so fun to work with- I ended up making a mini book, this page and a Christmas card all out of them! They really have a lot of interesting new products. I am always amazed to see some of the creative items companies come up with-one of the fun things I really liked playing with was the faux embossing kit.

I was on the news!
Kim and I were happily scrapping away yesterday at Studio C when a news crew pulled into the lot. I was facing the window and I said to Kim, 'Is that a news van that just pulled in?' She jumped up and looked out the window, and sure enough it was!

Well, it turns out that the governor, Mitch Daniels, signed into legislation some act that makes the reworking of US 31 possible MUCH sooner than expected, but because of this, the store is in the new proposed path of the expanded & upgraded highway! Poor Theresa & Doug!

Anyhow, they both did an interview and then the cameraman, a younger guy who Kim and I started talking with, started taking some video of everyone inside and Kim and I made it into the footage! Of course, stuff like this always happens when you don't look your best, so here is the clip: You can read more about the story and see us here!

Isn't that just crazy? :D

Scrappin', Stampin' & Stationery toot(s)
I had forgotten that more than a month ago, I had subbed some things for the third quarter issue of the Hobby Lobby magazine. Came home today from Dad's birthday party to find a request for THREE of my pages! I swear, this week just keeps getting better and better! I really don't want this little streak to end, but I know it will... ahhh... blasted Murphy's Law! ;)

HOLY MOLY!!
I was contacted by Jen at RSC for NINE more of my pages! I am telling you, I am in such utter shock and amazement I can barely type this out.

She had asked yesterday if I thought I had any more layouts for the June/July calls and I sent her what I thought would fit. Never in my wildest dreams did I think she would want to use them all!

Someone needs to come and pinch me!

Happy Birthday, Grandma!

Finally! After two months of working on this layout and playing with different papers and such, I am happy with it! I loved this picture of the girls with my Grandma for her birthday this past summer and knew I wanted to make the page bright & happy, but it just wasn't coming together. Yesterday, I was playing at Studio C with Kim and this just sorta fell together- and I love how it turned out!

Bazzill scalloped cardstock, My Mind's Eye (Kaleidoscope) papers & the fun circle paper is Bo Bunny Press. A Lil Davis vintage wood sign tops it off, along with lots of inking and some hand written journaling.

All things grow with Love

More Studio C design team work, also using the new super yummy Chatterbox papers and transparency letters (along with more Heidi Swapp plastic letters & chipboard words). This layout is also being featured at the store. The little cutie-patootie is Madison, in my Mom & Dad's backyard, helping garden.

The Earth Laughs in Flowers

Studio C design team work layout featuring the new line of Chatterbox papers. It is curently being featured at the store. This gorgeous picture was taken by my dear friend, Robin Blankenship- isn't it gorgeous?

New beginning...
So, I have been wanting to do this for quite some time: Start a scrapbook blog, that is. A friend of mine, Tammy Tutterow, has her own here as well- and I adore her creations- and how she has her blog setup, so I am going to try and model mine after hers. (I really hope she doesnt mind.) So, here goes...

Back to School book

**Soon to be seen in Ready, Set, Create! June/July issue**

I made this little tag book quite some time ago, but I finally just scanned it in to share. Tags tuck into the little book and pull out. I have yet to add photos and such to it. Not sure what I want to do with it.

Lots of odds & ends products here- Making Memories embellies, Daisy D's & Scenic Route papers, some Rebecca Sower dimensional stickers...
